Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born 26
August 2002, is a popular American musician and singer. His single from 2019
"Ransom", was his first major hit. It reached number 4 in the
Billboard Hot 100. The mixtape he released as his debut, We Love You Tecca (2019),
featured the single. It reached fourth place in the US Billboard 200. The
mixtape also featured the two singles "Love Me" and "Did It
Again". His first studio album"Virgo World" (2020) debuted at
#10 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100 charting songs
"Dolly" and "When You Down". The mixtape he followed, We
Love You Tecca 2, was released in August 2021 . It included "Repeat
It" and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, an Jamaican
immigrants, was born in Queens on the 26th of August 2002. Sharpe was raised in
Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of Queens and later moved to Cedarhurst in
Long Island. Sharpe has always dreamed of being able to play in the NBA in his
youth, but at the age of 12, he decided to pursue a career in music. He
attended Lawrence High School. Tecca was nine years old at the time, was
rapping with his classmates with his Xbox to record. One of their diss tracks
was uploaded to SoundCloud several years ago, but it was removed. In the
beginning when he was a kid, he did not have any plans of making music a
profession but instead wanted to be an NBA star. In his middle school years
however, he began to become bored with basketball and began taking music
seriously. His first song that became famous, "Tectri", was made by
Lil Gummybear in partnership with Lil Gummybear and released in the early part
of 2017. Other tracks by Tecca include "Callin" as well as
"Tectri". His smash hit single "Ransom," which was first
posted to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd in 2019,
started the meteoric rise of Tecca. It reached the top spot at 4 on the
Billboard Hot 100 charts and was played over 900,000,000 times on Spotify and
more than 300 million times on YouTube.
