Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh,
North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a theatre
actor writer, director, and actor) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her mother
and an actress. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician, as well as Ira
David Wood III, an actor. Evan and her brothers have occasionally performed at
Theatre In The Park in Raleigh, which her father founded and for which the
director is executive. After a long and drawn-out audition process at the age
of five, she was old when she was able to screen-test with Kirsten Dunst. With
her parents and brother Ira they moved to Los Angeles in 1996. Since then, she
has enjoyed success in television series, movies on TV, and feature films.
Tracy was her character in Practical Magic (1998) and S1m0ne (2002 the child of
Al Pacino). Holly Hunter followed with Thirteen (2004). Her role as Tracy in
"Thirteen," which she was a part of the film, earned her a nomination
from the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama and a
nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By an
Actress Female in an Leading Role. When she received the award from SAG and was
the most youthful actress in the Leading Role category. She won an Golden Globe
and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or
Movie" for her performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred
Pierce (2011). Acclaim was also awarded for her role as Stephanie (Mickey
Rourke’s estranged daughter) in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008). She
is the daughter of Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III. Little sister to Ira David
Wood IV and Dana Wood. Dancer. She is a lover of dancing, sing, rollblade, and
ride horses. She is a black belt at tae Kwon-Do. She stays in touch with many
of her Once and Again (1999 castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane
West.
